I Met Trust in the School’s Toilet

Hiya friends!

Personally, I think the toilet is one of those places where a lot of precious high school memories take place. I’m not sure about boys, but a lot of girls go to toilet in groups and whenever I meet a group in the toilet, it’s always like they’re having a party there.

One of my precious memories took place in the school’s toilet, too. I remember that it happened around my first few weeks in the new school. It was recess when this took place, the toilet was at its peak period.

Here’s a picture of what the toilet looks like:

The last two toilets have broken locks.

If you want to use these two cubicles, you’ll need to have someone outside to hold the door in place for you. In my story, there were three students. Two of them wanted to use the toilet and the third student and I were the ones who stood outside holding it for them.

I held the door for the student in the last cubicle.

When both of them were in the toilet, the other student and I started fooling around and pushing each other.

Then we started to push each other’s cubicle. I might have pushed a bit too hard, because the cubicle the other student was holding almost opened halfway. I held on to mine firmly and it didn’t sway, because I thought of the trust the girl inside the cubicle had in me and I didn’t wanna “let her down”.

The point is, actually I don’t know the student whose door I was holding for, but she still let me hold the door for her anyway. To me, it means that she’d placed great trust in me and she was counting on me to help her. I marvelled at how she trusts in me, a complete stranger, that easily.

I realized that we ought to have more faith in other people and put more trust in them. The people whom we have placed our trust on will also act accordingly, just like how I didn’t wanna let the person in the cubicle down. We might have gotten hurt or betrayed before, but we shouldn’t let it get in the way of us trusting people other than those who have done nasty things to us. Sure, it ain’t always gonna be easy, but I believe all of us would overcome and prevail.
