Roti John, My Love

Yo!

Hey guys! I went to a nearby bazaar (750m from my house) to tapau food today XD.

There’s a rainbow too!

I bought 2 packets of fruit juice. One is mango and the other one is honeydew. I berbuka with mango juice and a kurma 👍.

Mango juice
Sweet!!!

I nearly ended up buying watermelon juice instead of honeydew juice. There were 3 large containers with 3 different juices in it.

I saw that two of the containers have the same word, watermelon. The first one just had watermelon labelled on it and the drink is red colour, but the second one says watermelon susu and the drink is green colour.

At first, I was so confused. I thought to myself: “What type of milk (susu means milk) did these people add to make the watermelon juice turn green?” Out of curiosity, I asked the stall owner what watermelon susu is and he told me it’s honeydew. Then I was like “Oooohhhh.”

Honeydew juice

I bought some kuih too. I don’t know what their names are, so I’ll just call them after what they look like.

The last food I bought for the day was the one I’d looked forward to eating the most. It is none other than the one and only Roti John. I’ve never had one before, so it feels a bit like having your first date with your crush.

It’s very long
Tada!!!

I’m seriously in love with this food. My family loves it too!

It took me a long time to find the stall where they sell Roti John, but through sheer determination I’d found it with the help of some kind passers-by.

A screenshot of where the stall is on Google Street View.
The man who sold Roti John was sitting by a table at the exact
same spot as the white van.

I’ll be going back to the same stall tomorrow to buy two Roti John for berbuka, God willing. Roti John da best.

  1. Thank you for such a wonderful post!
It's always a pleasure to read your posts ^_^
Your posts make me feel like I'm living in Malaysia too !!
PS: Ohhhh……and I had those coconut balls in Japan last year in a food fest! They were amazing. Didn't know they were Malaysian at the time. Can't wait to try out the Roti John someday

  2. Thanks! I'm super grateful for your support Lia! 💖💖
The coconut balls are actually called onde-onde. The mouth-watering dessert was originally from Indonesia. You see, Malaysia shares a lot of similarities with Indonesia XD
Roti John is the best! You won't be disappointed, that's for sure! 🔥🔥

    Have a nice day!
